Information & Meaning

OneRepublic is an American pop-rock band with Ryan Tedder as its frontman. The band has released 5 studio albums as of this writing, namely "Human", "Oh My My", "Native", "Waking Up", and "Dreaming Out Loud". Their most popular songs are "Apologize" from the album "Dreaming Out Loud" and "Counting Stars" from the album "Native".

Initially the band had the name Republic but changed to OneRepublic in order to avoid having the same name with other bands or other things on search engines.

Before joining the Mosley Music Group label under the auspices of Interscope Records, they first joined Columbia Records. Two months before the release of their debut album with lead single "Sleep", Columbia Records terminated her contract.

"I Ain't Worried" is a song composed by OneRepublic for the soundtrack of the film "Top Gun: Maverick". It is reported that this song will be included in their album which is planned to be released in 2023, when this post was written, the album had not yet been released. The song, which has a duration of 2 minutes and 28 seconds, has been certified platinum in the United States and United Kingdom. In this song, which was released on May 13 2022, Tedder's son, Copeland Cruz, contributed as a backing vocal. The whistling melody on this song was inspired by the song "Young Folks" by Peter Bjorn and John which was released in 2006. Their names were later included in the credit songwriter of this song.

The song reached the top 3 on the UK Singles chart and number 6 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming the 4th song from OneRepublic to enter the top 10 on the chart. The song also made it to number 1 in Belgium, Iceland and New Zealand as well as being in the top 10 in many other countries around the world.

The song received praise from critics for its upbeat sound.

In an interview with Ryan Seacrest on On Air with Ryan Seacrest, Tedder revealed the original idea for the song came during the covid pandemic after one of their friends at Paramount Pictures invited OneRepublic to contribute his song to the new "Top Gun" film. At that time Tom Cruise had rejected about 30 songs that would be the soundtrack of this film, he was looking for a band to make original songs for the film, especially for the beach scene. Honestly, I don't know what the beach scene means here because I haven't watched the film.

This song itself from the lyrics tells about someone who is not worried about what will happen next because he believes in himself. He doesn't care how big the problem is waiting for him in front, he will face it with confidence. What he will do is focus on himself and of course he also ignores other people's opinions of him because that will only hinder him from his goals.

The music video for the song was directed by Isaac Rentz, who is known for directing the music videos for 5 Seconds of Summer's "She's Kinda Hot" and Katy Perry's "Hey Hey Hey". The video clip was released along with the song and played in US cinemas.
